Rock and Worship Recap

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

We had a great time at the Rock and Worship Roadshow on Friday night.

From right, my friend Ryan Forsman, some kid in an orange shirt, Mae Morton, Wyatt, and Kara.

There were fully 15,000 people at AAC for the concert. If you have never been to a Christian concert where the name of Jesus is being lifted up by so many people in one place, you should. It is really cool to hear the sound of so many believers singing together…what it’s all about.

Easter Celebrations

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Over the Easter weekend, we took a trip to Boerne, TX (just north west of San Antonio) to visit my Grandparents.

While there, the kids and Kara visited mission San Jose and the Alamo.

I spent Saturday playing in my first disc golf tournament of the year. The park was in Boerne and only five minutes from my grandparent’s house. I didn’t play well so look at the results if you must.

Sunday, the kids hunted eggs.

After celebrating the resurrection of our Lord at Boerne Church of Christ, we posed in our Sunday best in the field of Blue Bonnets behind my grandparent’s home. (Click the pictures for a larger view.)

We capped off the trip with a stop at the Underwoods to hunt some more eggs and eat some great grub. In all, a wonderful weekend.

Sunday’s Worship

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

This past Sunday was a sweet time of worship at the morning services and at the evening Seeking Him service.

We have been doing a new song called I Love Your Presence. With it, we sing a part that goes:

“If you want it, come and get it
He’s crying out loud
This love that He has given you was never in doubt
Let go of your heart, let go of your head
Recieve it now”

If it sounds vaguely familiar, it is because the lyrics originally belonged to David Grey on his Babylon song. I like the redeemed version quite a lot, there is some real power on the words when sung from the Christian perspective.

At Long Last

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Yesterday, we finally signed the paperwork to close on our new house.

I must give credit where credit is due. On Tuesday morning, I was convicted that we had been striving too hard in our own power to push this deal through and that we needed to turn the process over to God in prayer. Just over 24 hours after doing just that, we were sitting at the title company signing papers. What we couldn’t do in a month, He did in just over a day!

I will post pictures of the house soon, we can’t wait for everyone to see it.

Amusing Parks

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Back in July, during our Wyatt family get together at my Grandparent’s house, several of us enjoyed Sea World and Schlitterbahn water park. Here are a few pictures from that trip. (Click on any picture to get a larger view.)

The tickets we bought to Sea World back in July were good for a “Second Day Free” if used in the same year. So we decided that this past weekend that we would travel back down there for another day of fun.

The kids loved to climb these traffic blocks.

Up we go on a ride called Journey to Atlantis. This had a backward drop then a steep drop into water. All three kids loved it.

One of our favorite parts of Sea World (and a great place to get pictures) is feeding the Lorikeets. Parker missed this last time so he was loving the experience.

All of us Guerrys love the rides and have a blast at Sea World and other theme parks. In fact, in my next post, I will put up some pictures of a recent Six Flags trip. It is a great way to have a great time with my family. I hope they cherish these trips as much as I do.

There are several pictures of the kids that have built up over the last few months. Some bragging, if you will:

This is Ashton’s soccer team and the trophies they received for the Spring 2009 season. Ashton is on the far right in purple. I am proud of her for doing something that is out of her comfort zone. I think she will be less of an athlete as she grows, however. We are leaning toward music lessons for her.

Also in the spring, our family took a camping trip to East Texas.

This is the beautiful Sulfur Springs, Texas courthouse.

Here are my fishing boys. It was windy and cool but its fun to toss lures anyway.

Then, at the end of the Winter/Spring season, my hockey team competed for the MCHA Championship. As you can see, we won the game and took home the cup for first place in our league!

In lieu of a swimming pool, we cool off our hot tub so the kids can take a dip.

We have a blast with our activities…next up, I will post some summer fun pictures.

Peanuts and Cracker Jacks

Wow, April! That is really my last post. Yikes.

Here are some pictures from a Ranger Game outing with my Dad that we enjoyed back at the beginning of summer.

The boys were hoping for a ball hit onto the hill next to us so they could run out and try to nab it but it did not happen at this game.

We had a great time and are looking forward to the next game.

Kid Fun

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

It’s been a while since I have posted pictures on this blog so here are some of the kids and their recent accomplishments.

Ashton and I attended a Daddy/Daughter dance in The Colony. I had a beautiful dance partner. We enjoyed dancing, snacks and got our picture made together.

At open house, Ashton showed off the self portrait character she made. I love the orange hair.

At a recent One Mile race in Denton, Wyatt placed second and Soren (Wyatt’s cousin) placed first. Go runners!

Parker enjoyed his fourth birthday cake. Since we had more than one party (one with kids, one with adults, etc.) he was a bit confused as to when he actually turned four. I think we finally have him convinced that he is now really a four-year-old.

For his birthday, Parker got a remote controlled kite and we had fun trying to get it to work.

The city of The Colony has a massive Easter egg hunt every year. The kids divide up into age groups on different baseball fields. When the volunteers say go, the kids run around the outfield and pick up the eggs that have been spread out there. So, really, there is not much of a hunt but more of a free-for-all scramble. The kids had fun.

Ashton participated in a music presentation at her school. Music and drama are two of her favorite “special” classes at school.
